The winner of our Olympic City downtown getaway will relax in style. Your package begins with 3 nights for 2, double occupancy in the heart of downtown, at Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, Downtown Colorado Springs Hotels | SpringHill Suites Colorado Springs Downtown (marriott.com) .
You will be chauffeured from your pickup spot on the Front Range or from the airport to the luxurious SpringHill Suites Colorado Springs Downton Hotel. You will also receive a $500 travel voucher to use for travel to Colorado Springs, and if in state you can use this voucher for shopping, transportation, etc.
After check-in you will be treated to a reception hosted by Jessica Beecham, President, National Federation of the Blind of Colorado, and other affiliate leaders. Your package includes dinner for two at Four by Brother Luck. Brother Luck is a well-known chef. He has appeared on Food Network and other cooking shows. Menus change quarterly with a choice of four courses including four different choices per course.
The package includes dinner at The Famous Steak House. The locally owned Famous Steakhouse is comparable to any top-tier steakhouse such as Mortens, or Ruth’s Chris. It is a 12-minute walk from your hotel.
Your days can begin with breakfast or brunch at one of our favorite spots, Burnt Toast. Also included is brunch at Shuga's as well as brunch at Odyssey Gastropub.
You can enjoy late-night jazz and hors-d'oeuvres at The Wild Goose Meeting House.
You will want to take the world-famous Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak.
Your package includes a visit to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum.
You will also enjoy massage services at the Sunwater Spa in Manitou Springs including a 90-minute mineral bath soak for 2. Manitou Springs is known internationally for its warm mineral springs.
A visit to the world-famous Flying W Ranch. This is a tourist must! Check this link for all it has to offer. It opened in 1954. It was burned to the ground during our big 2011 fire. There is cowboy-style buffet dinner with the cowboy Wrangler dinner show and many other experiences before dinner such as Native American dancing, horse and carriage rides, pony rides, and axe throwing. Enjoy the Western Grounds, featuring a variety of ranch animals, mountain streams and duck-filled ponds. You will also receive a $150 voucher for the Flying W gift shop. Flying W Ranch (note it is a buffet, however, servers actually put the food on your plates. Perfect for us blind guys and gals, we have thought of everything)
All of your retreat experience, except for the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak is within a few short blocks of your hotel. You will be provided with a guided walking shopping tour around the downtown area. You also may enjoy observing some of the many sculptured art pieces in beautiful downtown COS.
Your package includes a $50 gift certificate at Cacao Chemistry Chocolatier and Patisserie. Most of their candy is made right here by the proprietors of the store.
