(Resources and Information for Blind/Visually Impaired Students)
Colorado Association of Blind Students (CABS)
CABS, the state chapter of the NFB’s National Association of Blind Students, provides support, information, and encouragement to blind college students and to high school students who are looking forward to college. At both the national and state levels this division of NFBCO leads the way in offering information on issues such as national testing, accessible textbooks and materials, overcoming negative attitudes about blindness from school personnel, developing new techniques for accomplishing laboratory or field assignments, working with disabled student services offices and more. CABS offers regional seminars dealing with issues affecting college students throughout the year and holds an annual meeting at the NFB of Colorado State Convention in the Fall. CABS meets monthly via conference call. Contact the division president for more information.
